If you haven't been to the Ace Cafe yet its a regeneration of the original 50's cafe. There is a vibrant scene for both cars and bikes, and on the day we visited it had just finished playing host as a final control for the ACU National Rally. This finished at 8am and as one lot of weary motorcyclists made their way home, the parking lot was rapidly filling up with those coming in for breakfast. The Ace Cafe operates on a counter service system where you order and then find a place to sit and wait for your number to be called out. The seating arrangement is mostly on long benches (a bit like Wagamamas) which can be friendly, or intrusive, depending on your viewpoint. Service was quick on the day we visited although the attitude could be described as more functional. The breakfast was good but basic with no frills or fresh items. This is a place to come primarily for the scene rather than the food, and if this is your objective then you won't be disappointed.
